Michael L. Stark, Partner, co-founded Stark & Knoll in 1985. Mike is a graduate of Miami University in 1958, cum laude (Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Alpha Psi, Omicron Delta Kappa) and from the University of Indiana in 1961, with a Juris Doctor.

Throughout his career Mike has handled the planning and administration of the estates of many prominent Akron residents. Mike has negotiated employment contracts, profit sharing plans and other agreements for both local and national businesses including a broad experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions. He is widely known as a speaker at the Ohio State Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education including, “Nuts and Bolts of Wills and Trust” which he has presented for more then 30 years. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America (Trusts & Estates) since 1989, has been an Adjunct Professor, Masters of Taxation, at The University of Akron since 1981 and has been named by Law and Politics Magazine as an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2005.

John P. Susany, Partner, graduated from Ohio University Honors Tutorial College, summa cum laude, where he also pursued graduate studies in public administration. John graduated with a Juris Doctor from The University of Michigan in 1987.

John has successfully litigated a wide range of cases, including those involving business disputes, contracts, business torts, employment issues, fiduciary duties among owners and officers, corporate theft, trade secrets, construction matters, and many involving requests for injunctive relief, for clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts. John has also argued before a number of administrative boards and fact finders, including the National Labor Relations Board administrative law judges, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, various county boards of revision, and arbitrators and arbitration panels. He is the author of "Reduce Your Taxes Now." He is also a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation Class of 1999, and a member of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute and the Justinian Forum. In 1999, he was a panelist for the Ohio Supreme Court Futures Commission on The Merit Selection of Judges. Jeffrey T. Knoll, Partner, is a 1988 graduate from the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech University and The Ohio State University law school with a Juris Doctor in 1991.

Jeff practices in general corporate, real estate, commercial leasing, business succession planning and commercial lending. He also works in the area of fertility law. Jeff is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.

Terrence L. Seeberger, Partner, graduated from Grinnell College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1975 and Washington University School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1978.

Terry's practice areas include business, environmental, construction, land use and probate litigation, as well as white-collar criminal defense. He has over 30 years of experience during which he has successfully defended many area construction companies, manufacturing businesses, mortgage companies and local business owners. Christopher A. Tipping, Partner, is a cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (1992), and The Ohio State University College of Law (J.D. 1995), where he served as Articles Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Civil and Political Law. Prior to joining Stark & Knoll, Chris was a Partner at Tipping Co., L.P.A.

Mary Jo Lockshin, Mary Jo Lockshin, Partner, received her Bachelor of Arts in English, with honors, and her Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University.

Mary Jo brings a wealth of experience to the firm's estate planning and probate practice which enables her to assist clients with estate planning, probate, charitable gifting, probate litigation, trust and guardianship administration, and asset protection. Harry A. Tipping, Harry A. Tipping, Partner, graduated from Gannon College and The University of Akron School of Law with a Juris Doctor. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Law paper, Arete, from 1969-70. He is the founder of Tipping Co., L.P.A., which operated for 34 years in Northeast Ohio, until merging with Stark & Knoll.

With over 36 years of legal experience, Harry has litigated cases for hundreds of clients including: insurance companies, funeral homes, construction companies, hotels and homeowners associations. Harry specializes in insurance defense work and represents many nationally known insurance providers. His practice involves complex civil litigation in the fields of labor, employment, business and personal injury defense. He is a member of the Akron Bar Association; an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates, Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and Defense Research Institute; a Charter Fellow of the Akron Bar Association Foundation; and is listed in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the Midwest.

Ralph R. Waszak, Jr., Partner, is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Business Administration, and Case Western Reserve University with a Juris Doctor.

Ralph works with both buyers and sellers on real estate transactions and has represented both lessor and lessee in the negotiation of commercial leases. He practices in corporate transactions, real estate, business succession planning and commercial lending and represents a number of physicians, medical practices, manufacturers and service companies. Patricia F. Jacobson, Partner, is a graduate of Dominican University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics, Boston University with a Master of Arts in Asian Studies and Case Western Reserve University School of Law with a Juris Doctor.

For more than 25 years, Pat has served as a trusted advisor to hospitals, physicians and other health care providers guiding them through Stark, Antikickback, HIPAA, and antitrust regulatory compliance, risk management processes, contracts, formation and operation of joint ventures, physician recruitment, audits and investigations, development of compliance programs, and corporate governance issues. She has negotiated and drafted hundreds of contracts, including employment, recruitment, joint venture, managed care, practice management and purchase agreements.

Pat serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys and on the Health Law Council of the Cleveland Bar Association. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association for six years, where she chaired the Alternative Dispute Resolution Task Force for two years. She is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from federal and state fraud and abuse laws, coping with federal investigations, structuring medical practices and designing effective compliance programs.

She has also devoted many years of service to community organizations, including the Lorain County Civic Center Committee, the Lorain County Community Action Agency and the Girl Scouts. Michael E. George, Partner, graduated from Miami University with a double major in Business Management and Marketing in 1992 and from The University of Akron Law School in 1995 with a Juris Doctor.

Gregory R. Bean, Of-Counsel, graduated from The University of Akron School of Law and The University of Akron Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences.

Greg’s 35 years in the trust banking industry have given him the necessary experience to handle some of the most comprehensive and involved estate planning and probate matters. He is a past president of the Ohio Bankers League Trust Division and a member of the Ohio and Akron Bar Associations. Edward G. Kemp, Of-Counsel, graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1964 and The Ohio State University School of Law in 1967.

He has specialized in labor and employment law, with an emphasis on labor negotiations, arbitrations and fair employment practices, for over 35 years. Donald R. Scherer, Associate, is a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Akron School of Law (2006).

While in law school, he externed for the Honorable Judge Deborah Cook on the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable Judge John Adams on the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio.

Don assists both for profit and non-profit entities with a wide variety of issues, including corporate governance, commercial lending and succession planning. He is a member of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Associations and has been an instructor at The University of Akron School of Law in its legal writing program.

He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the ALS Association, Northern Ohio Chapter, which serves to improve the lives of those living with the disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Jenna L. Bouhall, Associate, graduated from Kent State University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and The University of Akron School of Law in 2006 with a Juris Doctor.

Jenna’s practice areas include litigation and employment law. She is a member of the Akron, Stark County, Ohio and American Bar Associations. Jenna previously served as staff attorney to the Honorable Judge Clair E. Dickinson and the Honorable Judge Edna J. Boyle, for the Ninth District Court of Appeals where she focused on civil proceedings.

Jenna lives in Green and has served as a panelist and judge in the Ohio High School Mock Trial District Competition.

She is a member of Stark & Knoll’s Litigation and Employment Group.

Nada G. Faddoul, Associate, graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law with a Juris Doctor in 2007. She is also a magna cum laude graduate of John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

A member of the American, Ohio State, Cleveland Metropolitan and Akron Bar Associations, Nada is admitted to practice in all Ohio State Courts. In addition, Nada is a member of the Litigation and Labor and Employment Sections of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is fluent in Arabic and has had publications in the Dartmouth Law Journal and the JCU Seminar Collection.

Nada is a native of Hammana, Lebanon and currently resides in Strongsville.

Nada’s practice areas include business litigation, immigration law and employment.

Catherine K. Erisey, Associate, is a magna cum laude graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1990 and a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law in 1994.

Cathy represents a variety of clients including closely-held corporations and non-profit organizations with respect to various matters such as general corporate, real estate, transactional and intellectual property law. She is a member of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Associations.

Cathy currently serves as Vice President of the Resnik Community Learning Center Parent Teacher Association. She has been a member of the Junior League of Akron and a board member of Weaver Industries. She lives in Akron with her husband Jon and their three sons.

Emily M. Demiray, Associate, is a graduate of the University of Akron School Of Law and a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Kent State University with Bachelor of Science in Advertising.

Emily’s practice areas include estate planning, estate administration, trust administration and probate. She is a member of the Akron and Ohio Bar Associations. While at the University of Akron, Emily served as a Trademark Clerk for Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc. and as a Student Liaison for the Ohio State Bar Association.

A resident of Fairlawn, she is active in the community as a volunteer at Coach House Theater, Weathervane Playhouse, Western Reserve Playhouse and Phi Alpha Delta.

Lori R. Turner, Certified Paralegal, brings a wealth of hands-on experience to Stark & Knoll.

She has worked more than 15 years in the legal field, specializing in probate and estate planning for 11 of those years.

She is a member of the Akron Bar Association's Paralegal Committee, the Ohio State Bar Association's Paralegal Committee and the National Association of Legal Assistants. In addition, she is a member of the Review Board for the Institute for Paralegal Education. Lori has passed all five sections of the National Association of Legal Assistants exam.

Lori is a native of Ashland, Ohio. She also is a participant in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.

Lori works with Stark & Knoll’s Estate Planning and Probate Department.
