Akron Law Firm Celebrates Silver Anniversary

Akron, Ohio - The Akron law firm of Stark & Knoll is excited to announce the celebration of its 25th anniversary as one of Northeast Ohio’s leading business, estate planning and litigation law firms.

When Mike Stark and Tom Knoll founded Stark & Knoll in 1985 the two only dreamed that the firm would be successful enough to grow out of its original headquarters in downtown Akron. They started with just a handful of clients, many of whom are still with the firm today. As business owners themselves, Stark and Knoll led their clients with the same goals and direction as they led their own business. This formula helped the firm and its clients prosper.

Today the firm has grown to 25 attorneys and 40 total employees who are still committed to providing entrepreneurs and business owners with the same sophisticated big-firm legal advice that Stark and Knoll vowed to provide its clients over a quarter of a century ago.

Since its 20th Anniversary, the firm has made great strides. In 2006, it acquired the staff of the Tipping Co., L.P.A.. That added three attorneys and two support staff to the growing firm, strengthening its ability to serve its litigation and insurance clients.

In 2007, the firm built new headquarters in Fairlawn. With this move, the firm kept its clients in mind with on-site parking, a location convenient to all areas of Summit, Medina, Cuyahoga and Stark counties and a technologically innovative office to better serve its clients. Shortly after the move, the firm added Greg Bean, Ed Kemp and Joel Aberth as Of-Counsel. The addition of these attorneys greatly expanded the depth of the firm’s employment and estate planning practice areas.

Next, in 2008, S&K Transitional Services, a subsidiary of the firm, was founded to expand on the firm’s mergers and acquisition services. S&K Transitional works on a success-fee basis to assist owners of independent businesses throughout the United States who are interested in successfully transitioning their organization to new ownership.

Most recently, in 2009, the firm grew again with the addition of partners, Phil Kaufmann, Loma Swett and Craig Marshall. Kaufmann and Swett’s experience in the area of trusts, estates and special needs planning enhanced the firms already strong Estate Planning & Probate Group. The addition of Marshall, a life-long Akron resident, added 23 years of business law experience to the firm’s Business Services Group.

Managing Partner, John Krajewski, has led the firm with the core values of service, relationships, confidentiality and innovation. “We pride ourselves in our commitment to our clients and we approach each of their unique situations with the outlook that we will do whatever it takes to get their project done on time and in a cost effective manner,” Krajewski said. “Just as we did for the past 25 years, we will maintain this commitment to superior service for the next 25 years and beyond,” Krajewski promised.
