Thomas Knoll named recipient of 2018 Polsky Humanitarian Award

Thomas Knoll, co-founder of our firm, will receive the Akron Community Foundation’s 2018 Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award. The Foundation presents the award to an individual or couple who has shown selfless dedication to humanitarian causes in our community. Tom will be the 51st recipient of the award.

Throughout his career of over 50 years, Tom has not only served his clients, but has worked diligently in the nonprofit community. He was a co-founder of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Summit, Medina and Stark Counties and the First Tee of Greater Akron. He has served as a board member for more than 20 nonprofit organizations over his career, including the GAR Foundation, Goodwill Industries of Akron and The University of Akron Foundation. He played a key role in the creation of Leadership Akron’s NEXT, a two year program that places retired executives in community leadership roles. He and his wife, Ginny, alsoestablished the Tom and Ginny Knoll Family Fund at the Akron Community Foundation, which provides grants to various local nonprofits.
He will receive the award at the Polsky Humanitarian Award Dinner on October 16th at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
